engagement

We can guide you through choosing a location, but we usually start with a meaningful location to your relationship. This can be the place where you met, the spot in your neighborhood that you're regulars at, or even your future wedding venue.  Adding in intentionality and purpose to a location can add in so much meaning to photos that have potential to feel like fluff.

When you look back at your engagement photos, I want you to remember the great times picking out your first dance song over a glass of wine or the hard times of trying to narrow down a guest list, and everything in between, all while life goes on alongside wedding planning. It's a unique, once-in-a-lifetime period in a relationship, and deserves to be remembered beautifully and honestly.

We typically recommend booking your engagement session 6-8 months before your wedding day, but we're happy to book engagement sessions whenever you'd like. If you really love the fall, but your wedding is happening in the next fall, we can take photos a year in advance. If you decide last minute that you want to make a gorgeous photo book for your wedding guests to sign the month before your wedding, we can do that too.

Engagement sessions should feel fun, and low-pressure. Our aim with engagement sessions is to show you that being in front of the camera doesn't have to be nerve-wracking, and that you don't have to know what to do for the images to be great.

We take on a select number of engagement seasons each year, and want to make sure the whole experience is optimal for taking photos. For this reason, we prioritize our wedding clients in our engagement session calendar. If you're interested in booking an engagement session and you're not currently a client, please email us at hello@maggiedunn.co.
