Jekyll Island Wedding on Super 8 Film

filed in:

Last November, I had the chance to shoot something a little different, and something I’ve completely fallen in love with. Arden & Kyle’s wedding at Crane Cottage on Jekyll Island was not only one of the most beautiful, meaningful weddings I’ve documented, it was also an amazing opportunity to bring along a Super 8 camera.

And now? Super 8 wedding films are officially a part of what I offer.

There’s something about Super 8 that digital can’t replicate. It’s nostalgic, imperfect in the most beautiful way, and brings this intimate, home-movie feel that transports you right back to the day. Arden & Kyle’s day was full of quiet moments, meaningful traditions, and Southern coastal charm, everything that makes Super 8 shine.

The best part? Super 8 doesn’t replace your wedding photos; it complements them. It adds texture and motion, capturing not just how everything looked, but how it felt. The way your dress moved in the wind, the laughter during cocktail hour, the way you reached for each other without thinking. That’s what Super 8 captures best.

If you’re planning a wedding and love the idea of a keepsake that feels a little more timeless and a little less polished, I’d love to create something special for you. Super 8 is now available as an add-on for wedding clients who want a film that feels honest, artistic, and full of soul.

I'm inspired by my relationships with my high-school sweetheart husband, and with my three younger sisters, by antique stores and great music, by watching  great tv and movies or an underdog win a sports game, and most of all by the persistence by which we choose to celebrate together and love each other well.

I'm Maggie, a Georgia-based photographer specializing in documenting weddings along the east coast. My mission with photography is to help people fall in love with the imperfect moments, and see those moments as art. Noticing these things are what help us see each other better.
