Last fall, I had the chance to attend The Inspired Retreat in Dallas: a creative, intimate gathering for photographers designed to push vision, spark connection, and create space for intentional artistry. Over the course of the retreat, we photographed six incredibly styled scenes, each with its own mood, aesthetic, and story. I’ll be sharing them one by one here, starting with one of my favorites: Cinematic.
Set in an open field just as the sun dipped low, Cinematic was all about soft drama and quiet movement. The styling was minimal but striking, with clean silhouettes, windblown fabric, golden-hour light filtering through tall grass.
There’s something about dusk that invites emotion, and this scene captured that perfectly. It reminded me that sometimes, the most powerful images aren’t posed or overly polished, they’re simply about letting the scenery and the light lead the feelings.
I came home from this retreat creatively recharged and more inspired than ever to seek out stories with atmosphere and honesty. If you’re a couple drawn to cinematic, intentional imagery, or if you’re planning a wedding with that same feeling, I’d love to bring that energy into your day.
