Wedding Weekend at Jekyll Island’s Crane Cottage

filed in:

Arden and Kyle’s wedding weekend at Crane Cottage on Jekyll Island was something truly special. It was elegant, relaxed, and full of meaning. Even in late November, the weather was beautiful, with soft coastal light and just the right chill in the air to make everything feel cozy and romantic.

The weekend kicked off with an all-white croquet welcome party on the lawn. Guests in crisp neutrals, cocktails in hand, and the kind of laughter you only hear when everyone’s genuinely happy to be together. With less than 100 guests, the entire weekend felt like an extended dinner party with their favorite people, and that intimacy shaped every part of the celebration.

Their ceremony was held in the sunken garden, followed by one long dinner table overlooking the harbor. It was candlelit, timeless, and completely unforgettable. Every detail was thoughtful but never overdone, which made the whole experience feel effortless and incredibly personal.

The film photos in particular added a layer of warmth and nostalgia that matched the setting perfectly. Crane Cottage is one of those venues that feels untouched by time, and film brings that atmosphere to life in a way that digital never could. If you’re dreaming of an intimate destination wedding that feels elegant, meaningful, and rooted in connection, Jekyll Island, and Crane Cottage in particular, is such a hidden gem.

I'm inspired by my relationships with my high-school sweetheart husband, and with my three younger sisters, by antique stores and great music, by watching  great tv and movies or an underdog win a sports game, and most of all by the persistence by which we choose to celebrate together and love each other well.

I'm Maggie, a Georgia-based photographer specializing in documenting weddings along the east coast. My mission with photography is to help people fall in love with the imperfect moments, and see those moments as art. Noticing these things are what help us see each other better.
